Amber Sunset

A sunset from a couple months ago.  Still trying to figure the camera out, to try and get the shots I want.  I like the seamless color changes in the sky all the way down to the edge of the tree line.

Turtle Steps

These cute cutouts in the risers of a beach house caught my eye, as I love little turtle shapes and figures. 

Sunset Fingers

This is a sunset with spectacular colors in it.  I was only 10 seconds late to actually catch the outline of the sun, but I love the colors!  And the wispy cloud fingers give it a feeling of the day trying to hold on a few seconds more before having to leave to make way for sister moon. 

Ice Formations

Recent winds blowing water spray over the local causeway, created some interesting ice formations on the grassy banks this past week.  Temperatures in the 20's let the sculptures build up and stay around for a few days. 

Sandy Patterns

Natural erosion by wind and water have created this interesting pattern in the dune of the beach in the Outer Banks area of North Carolina.

Winter Ocean

The beauty of the Atlantic Ocean on a cold winter day.  Just as the plants and animal sleep in the winter, she appears to be docile as well, resting for the upcoming spring when she will roar back to life.

Cloudy Night

 

Playing with the settings on my little camera.  The photos look much better larger.  This is a shot of the moon peeking through the cloud cover and then a zoom of the same thing.  It reminds me of being in the bottom of a container of cotton balls looking up to the top of the opening.
